Fatty Liver Symptoms
Fatty liver is the condition in which permanent damage is caused to the liver due to the intake of alcohol for a longer duration of time. There are basically two types of fatty liver. These are:
- Alcoholic fatty liver
- Non – alcoholic fatty liver
Usually the fatty liver is caused due to the inflammation in it. This inflammation is caused due to the scarring and damage of the liver cells. This also results in the accumulation of the fat in the liver.
Symptoms Of Fatty Liver:
The symptoms of fatty liver includes:
- Sudden loss in weight
- Loss in appetite
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Forgetfulness or memory lapses
- Dry mouth
- Swelling the legs and feet
- Fever
- Pain under the ribs
The symptoms of this condition are shown mostly at the late stage. It is because of the same reason that biopsy is conducted to know the exact position of the disease.
Causes Of Fatty Liver:
The causes of fatty liver are basically the obesity, diabetes, and over consumption of alcohol. These three are common reasons for this condition to appear. Apart from these, some metabolic disorders which are hereditary can also result in this condition. Some other causes can be:
- High toxicity
- Starvation
- Corticosteroids
- Intake of poison
The condition of fatty liver occurs when liver becomes incapable to resist the levels of insulin and triglyceride in the blood. When this condition appears it results in the fatty liver.
