Enlarged Liver Symptoms
Enlarged liver is a condition in which the size of the liver exceeds the normal size. This condition is also termed as Hepatomegaly. The presence of a large liver signify some crucial problem like some liver disease or cancer or even congestive heart failure. Jaundice is the major symptom for this condition.

- The skin and whites of the eyes become yellow
- Pain in the abdominal part is noticed
- Fatigue
These are some common symptoms which will accompany some severe symptoms that will depend on the gravity of the condition.
Causes Of Enlarged Liver:
Some common causes of enlarged liver includes:
- Alcoholic fatty acid liver
- Non alcoholic fatty acid liver
- Hepatitis – A, B, C – depending upon the virus which infected it
- Cirrhosis
- Abnormal accumulation of protein in liver
- Abnormal accumulation of copper in liver
- Abnormal accumulation of fatty acid in liver
- Obstruction of gallbladder or bile ducts
- Toxic hepatitis
- Some form of cancer in the body like leukemia, liver cancer or lymphoma
- Any kind of blockage in the vein which drain liver
- Failure of the heart
- Any kind of inflammation in and around the heart
- Any problem in the tricuspid valve of the heart.
Treatment Of Enlarged Liver:
The treatment of the enlarged liver can be done by treating the underlying cause for the problem. It is because the problem of enlarge liver is the reflection of some underlying issue either in the liver or in the heart. So, if this underlying problem is cured the problem of enlarged liver will be automatically cured.
