Can you provide any citations/supporting evidence/references to peer-reviewed studies for the claims you are making here? I’m with you on the “water” claim, after that things seem a little unsupported.

Under “Castor Oil and Milk you don’t mention milk but rather water. Typo?

You are contradicting yourself in the following, under Fiber Diet: “Leafy vegetables and bananas are considered as the ideal foods to relief from constipation and ease bowel movement. Do not eat bananas because it worsens the condition.” I’m referring of course to the reference to bananas which are recommended and then warned against in the next sentence.

Mulberry juice? Why? By what mechanism (as apart from other fruit juices – which are mostly water anyhow)?

Most of my research indicates that milk is contra-indicated for constipation. Can you supply any mechanism by which this remedy (Milk and honey) should relieve it?

Dates, and in fact all references to fruits, juices and liquids seem to all share the same principle: Get water into the stool – which points back to your first point (upon which we agree), and cause me to wonder about the necessity for any of the rest.

    Anyhow, thanks for posting!

Home treatment, such as lytlsfiee changes and nonprescription medicines, may be all that is needed to treat mild to moderate heartburn. However, if your symptoms do not get better with home treatment, or if your symptoms occur frequently and last longer than 2 weeks, see your doctor to find out whether other medical conditions may be causing your symptoms.Keep a record of your heartburn symptoms before and after making lytlsfiee changes or using nonprescription medicines so you can discuss any improvement with your doctor. Lifestyle changes to treat heartburnYou can make changes to your lytlsfiee to help relieve your symptoms of heartburn. Here are some things to try: * Change your eating habits. o It’s best to eat several small meals instead of two or three large meals. o After you eat, wait 2 to 3 hours before you lie down. Late-night snacks aren’t a good idea. o Chocolate, mint, and alcohol can make heartburn worse. They relax the valve between the esophagus and the stomach. o Spicy foods, foods that have a lot of acid (like tomatoes and oranges), and coffee can make heartburn symptoms worse in some people. If your symptoms are worse after you eat a certain food, you may want to stop eating that food to see if your symptoms get better. * Do not smoke or chew tobacco. * If you get heartburn at night, raise the head of your bed 6in. to 8in. by putting the frame on blocks or placing a foam wedge under the head of your mattress. (Adding extra pillows does not work.) * Do not wear tight clothing around your middle. Lose weight if you need to. Losing just 5 to 10 pounds can help. * Antacids such as Tums, Mylanta, or Maalox neutralize some of the stomach acid for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on whether the stomach is full or empty. Liquid or dissolving antacids usually work faster than tablet forms. * Some antacids, such as Gaviscon, have a foaming agent (alginate) that acts as a barrier between stomach acid and the esophagus. * Antacids such as Pepto-Bismol coat the esophagus and act as a barrier to reflux acid. Pepto-Bismol should not be used for more than 3 weeks and you should not take it if you can’t take aspirin. It may make your tongue or stools black. The black color is usually not serious. Brushing your teeth and tongue after taking Pepto-Bismol may keep your tongue from turning black. If your child or teen gets chickenpox or flu, do not treat the symptoms with nonprescription medicines that contain bismuth subsalicylate (such as Pepto-Bismol and Kaopectate). If your child has taken this kind of medicine and he or she has changes in behavior with nausea and vomiting, call your doctor. These symptoms could be an early sign of Reye’s syndrome, a rare but serious illness. Ask your doctor if your child younger than 12 should take these medicines. If you take MAALOX or Mylanta this will help your constipation.

    You recommend upon this subject:
    “Castor oil and Milk:
Add two tablespoons of castor oil to a glass of warm water and drink it before sleeping. This helps in solving the constipation problem in the morning.”

In several respects this is no good advice:
    1. Two tablespoons Castor Oil will not be efficient for a complete bowel cleansing. The Russian Popular Medicine recommends to take 1 milliliter Castor Oil per 1 kilogramm of the weight of the person; e. g. 60 kg –> 60 ml (= 2 oz) Castor Oil.
    2. Drinking or better swallowing Castor Oil in an adequate dose before sleeping will bring the first evacuations two to four hours later, so right in the middle of the night, this with the risk, that in the case that you are a sound sleeper you will dream that you have to go urgently to the bathroom, but in reality you remain in your bed. So it is better to take your dose Castor Oil early in the morning, not having breakfasted.
