Identifying Your Hair Type

hairGenerally your hair type is similar to your skin type i.e. if your skin is greasy, it is likely that your hair is greasy too. Your lifestyle and diet reflect on your hair and skin to some extent.

Normal Hair

is usually shiny and healthy, ideally it should be washed once a week.

Dry Hair

: Looks dull with dry split ends. If your diet contains enough zinc and fatty acids and if you wash your hair with a mild shampoo once a week, it would help relieve dryness. You could also wash it with a nourishing egg shampoo. Warm oil massages are most beneficial. Avoid subjecting hair to perms and dyes.

Greasy Hair

becomes lank and can leave the forehead greasy. Avoid greasy and fried food. Eat plenty of green and fresh vegetables. Drink plenty of water and fruit juices. Wash hair twice a week and add lemon juice to the final rinse. You can also try a massage with neem oil.

How to combat dandruff

Dandruff

can affect all skin types and is a common problem. Regular washing, combing, brushing plus a balanced diet helps in preventing it. A hot steam bath can combat dandruff. Massage hot oil onto your scalp and wrap a hot damp towel around your head. You may reapply towels until 30 minutes.
