Egg Shampoo

Eggs are rich sources of proteins. Beat 2 egg yolks into a glass of hot water. After straining, soak hair and scalp in this solution for an hour. Rinse off with warm water.

Herbal Shampoo

Add 100 gram each of dried

Soapnut (Sapindus mukorossi) and Indian Gooseberry

to one liter of water and soak for 24 hours. Boil and allow to cool. Strain and use as a shampoo to bring silky smoothness and tonicity to hair. This herbal shampoo is one of the beneficial home made shampoos for hair.

Soft Shampoo

Wash 150 grams each of dried olives and

Shikakai

leaves in cold water and soak overnight in an iron pot. The next morning, these are tested for 10-15 minutes and strained. Liquidize the remaining pulp and use the paste to wash your hair for a soft and shiny look. This is one of the best home made shampoos.

Patch Test

Before using any home made shampoos, test by applying a little to a small area of skin ( behind the ear and inside the elbow). Leave this on for 24 hours and check for redness, swelling or itching in which case, it is recommended not to use it.
