Yoga Posture – Head To the Knee Pose

This yoga posture involves the stretching of spine, shoulders and hamstring. This posture helps in stimulating kidneys and liver. It gives relief from anxiety, headache, mild depression etc. Digestion is improved by this yoga posture.

The steps of the pose are given below.

  • In a seated position, bend the left knee and bring the sole of the left foot to the inner right thigh.
  • Keep your right leg straight .
  • Then lean forward and with breathing out, hold the toe of the right leg with both hands. Stretch your hands and back. The elbows will be touching the ground.
  • When you have leaned forward and holding the right leg toe, then try to touch your forehead with the knee of the right leg.
  • Remain in this position for 6-10 seconds and then come back slowly in the initial position by breathing in and then bringing back the left leg in the normal position.
  • Repeat this yoga pose from the other side. This forward bending pose stretches the hamstring and is very beneficial for digestive system.
