Alcoholic Hepatitis

Intake of alcohol can result in some serious diseases of liver such as hepatitis. Hepatitis is defined as the condition in which inflammation of the liver takes place. This condition is not present in all the drinkers. The drinkers who drink moderately or binge once only are more liable to suffer from this disease.

Symptoms Of Alcoholic Hepatitis:

The common symptoms which represents the presence of Alcoholic Hepatitis includes:

  • Nausea, vomiting ( commonly with blood)
  • Loss in appetite
  • The skin and whites of eyes will turn yellow
  • Pain and tenderness in the abdominal part
  • State of confusion will be there
  • Fever
  • Due to the accumulation of fluid, the abdominal portion will swell up
  • Paleness
  • Dry mouth
  • Lightheadedness
  • Unusual thirst
  • Rapid gain in weight will be there

Causes For Alcoholic Hepatitis:

The causes of Alcoholic hepatitis are exactly known. There are many theories to explain it. The common cause for such condition to arrive is that liver is the organ which carry out some important process of the body. It releases the bile, helps in the process of blood clotting, it removes toxins from your body.

Intake of alcohol in large quantity for a longer duration results in the collection of toxic chemical called acetaldehyde in large quantity. This chemical trigger inflammation which in turn destroy the cells of the liver. Sometimes small knots or dense scars replace the healthy tissues of the liver which hinder its activities.

These process are irreversible process and is also known as cirrhosis which is considered as the last stage of alcoholic liver disease.
