Alcohol liver disease is the condition which is caused due alcohol misuse. Actually, intake of alcohol in a large quantity, results in the damage of your liver. This damage do not show any signs until it is severely damaged.
There are four stages in this damage. These stages are discussed below.
Stages Of Alcoholic Liver Disease:
There are four stages of liver disease. These are:
Fatty Liver Disease:
Once the alcohol is consumed it ends in liver where it is reduced into fats in the presence of carbon dioxide and water. This is termed as fatty degeneration where the accumulation and deposition of fat takes place in liver. This is not a much dangerous stage as it do not harm the liver much. It is the first stage of alcoholic liver disease.
Alcoholic Hepatitis:
If intake of alcohol, still continues, then it results in alcoholic hepatitis which is the second stage of alcoholic liver disease. In this stag inflammation in liver takes place which can be mild, but if it continues it can result in the liver damage too.
Liver Fibrosis:
It is the third stage where the tough fibrous scar is formed to repair the liver damaged cells. It is the self attempt of the body to protect the liver from further damage. This is an irreversible reaction which will stop only when intake of alcohol decreases. In case intake of alcohol still continues it results in liver cirrhosis.
Liver Cirrhosis:
This is the fourth and final stage of alcoholic liver disease. This condition is caused as the liver has been damaged completely due to the persistent intake of heavy drinking. This is a severe and critical stage which can ultimately result in the liver damage.
