Pseudoseizures or nonepileptic seizures is the condition which is caused due to mental stress. These are similar to epilepsy and are caused due to some psycological disorder.
Causes Of Pseudoseizures:
Pseudoseizures are caused due to some fault in the brain. Doctors are of the view that this condition arises as a defence mechanism of the brain when it is under intense pressure or stress. If the person tries to supress some trauma or stress pseudoseizure occurs all of a sudden as the defence mechanism for the same. The important thing about pseudoseizures is that they are not caused due the present trauma or stress. In case any such incident had taken place in the past. Then in the remembrance of any such incident of childhood or adolesence these can appear.
Symptoms of Pseudoseizures:
The symptoms of Pseudoseizures includes:
- Person falls immediately and starts shaking
- Gives a staring look
- Temporary loss of concentration or focus
- Signs Of epileptic seizures
- Memory lapses
- Body tremors
- Fainting
- State of confusion

The treatment of Pseudoseizers can be done using proper medical treatment and also by understanding the real cause for the condition to appear. If the cause of underlying problem is understood then it becomes easy for this condition to be treated easily.
Risks Of Pseudoseizures:
Mostly women suffer from this condition. The symptoms of this condition starts appearing in early adulthood or in the late teenage stage. This condition is a representation of some other major psychological disorder like anxiety disorder etc. Such condition also holds some history of wrong diagnosis or some undefined medical problems.
