Dissociative fugue is a condition which is rarely found. In this condition the person leaves his house suddenly without any planning and moves out for some unknown distant place. Such patients show the signs of amnesia and they are unaware of the reason for that travel.
Such conditions are known to arise due to severe stress or trauma. This is because the person has forgotten some part or sometimes everything about his past life and such people are not even ready to accept the present life also.
Thus, it is a confused state in which the person forgets his identity and all the facts related him or her. It is a type of dissociative disorder.
Causes Of Dissociative Fugue:
The causes of dissociative fugue are:
- Acute stress and situation which depress person deeply
- Any traumatic incident like a natural disaster or war
- Some personal distress also can result in this condition
- A shocking death of some dear person
- Unbearable pressure at home or in work place
Symptoms Of Dissociative Fugue:
The symptoms of dissociative disorder includes:
- Person is slightly confused
- Forgets a part or the entire past of his or her life
- It seems as if he or she is missing his personality
Symptoms of Amnesia are generally noticed
Treatment Of Dissociative Disorder:
The treatment of this disorder includes Psychotherapy. In this the therapist encourages the person to back in his past and recall all the incidents that has happen in his past. As the major cause of this condition is a traumatic incident so by recalling that incident person can reveal all his hidden feeling related to that incident. Thus, healing the cause which proves helpful in treating this condition.
