Causes Of Interstitial Cystitis:
The cause of interstitial cystitis are still not properly known. There is a thought that a breakdown in the epithelium can enable toxins of the urine to penetrate into the bladder which results in irritation, inflammation and inability to hold urine for a longer time. Then, antiproliferative factor also appears to interfere with the normal growth of epithelial lining inside the bladder wall.
Treatment Of Interstitial Cystitis:
No particular cure for this condition has not been found till now. Only few changes in lifestyle can bring about some kind of relaxation. The restriction on your diet, and medications and surgery are the few treatments which can bring about some relief. Changes in the diet includes reduction in food containing potassium, acid rich foods, spices and beverages. There is a process called Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation in which pulses are send through the skin to stimulate bladder nerves. This process increases the flow of blood to bladder, strengthen pelvic muscles and gives relieve from pain.
