Hyper-pigmented Skin

Hyper-pigmented skin is cause due to injuries caused by the sun or due to damage done by sun. The people who are the residents of Asia, Africa and the Mediterranean region are prone of hyper-pigmentation.

Hyper-pigmentation is generally caused due the over secretion of the pigment called ‘Melanin’ which is responsible for the color of the skin. Over secretion of melanin and hyper pigmentation can be due various condition like pregnancy, Addison’s disease or exposure to sunlight for long hours.

Conditions Related To Hyper- pigmented Skin:

Some of the conditions which are related to hyper-pigmentation of the skin are:

  • Albinism:

    It is the condition which is heredity and caused due to the lack of enzyme which is responsible for the production of the melanin pigment. This condition results in complete discoloration of the hairs, skin or eyes. No cure of this disease has been found as yet.

  • Vitiligo:

    It is an autoimmune disease in which the pigment producing cells are damaged.In this condition the smooth, white patches appear on the skin and in some cases all over the body. There is no cure for this condition as well.

  • Damage To The Skin Can Result In Pigmentation Loss:

    In case of infection on the skin, trauma,blisters or burns can result in discoloration of the affected area. This kind of discoloration is not permanent. it gets cured when the injury is healed or infection gets treated.

Natural Cures For Hyper-pigmented Skin:

There are two juices which can be applied on the affected area. One is lemon juice and the other one is tomato juice. Both these juices are acidic in nature so when they are applied on the hyper-pigmented part dissolve the upper layers of the hyper-pigmentation.This is a slow process, but regular application certainly gives results.
