Although there is no specific measure that is used for sun burn treatment. But, still one can take measures to control the damage done. The effect of the intensity of damage is measured 24 hours after the exposure to sun. Few initial steps that can be taken are:
- As soon as you feel the effect immediately keep a towel drenched in cold water over affected part.Try to keep the part cool as much as possible.
- Keep the area moist by applying moisturising cream.
- If blister is formed do not break them. Give them time to heal on their own.
- If needed take anti inflammatory medication also.
- After few days when sunburn heals the skin over it and around it starts healing. Remove this type of skin gently and continue using moisturising creams.
When sun burn affects a large area or whole body accompanied by high fever and itching then immediately consult a doctor.
