. Mobiles do not increase the risk of brain tumors. The radiation effects of the mobiles on the brain of the users was studied by Japanese scientists of the Tokyo Women’s Medical University led by Dr. N Yamaguchi. It was further observed that the usage of the mobiles did not increase the risk of three main cancers-glioma, meningioma, or pituitary adenoma. source
The study, in the British Journal of Cancer, compares 322 brain cancer patients and 683 healthy people. The cancer patients had one of the three main cancers. The duration of the usage along with the time spent on the mobile was observed. How the mobile affected different parts of the brain was also analyzed. The case study consisted of 132 meningioma patients,88 glioma patients, and 102 pituitary adenoma patients between the age group of 30-69 years.
Previous research conducted earlier has been contradictory. However most have not suggested any association of increased risk of cancer due to usage of mobiles. So far studies have not shown evidence that using mobiles was harmful. Yet the long term effects of using mobiles cannot be overlooked. The present findings have added to the earlier ones indicating that mobiles were safe to use.
In modern day living mobiles have become very common. People use them quite often. Most of the official work is done through them. Even personal usage is on the increase. Those who use them frequently can be rest assured that there is no risk of developing cancer.
