Makarasana relieves the tensions of the physique and the mind. It increases the heat of the body. The whole body will be completely relaxed during this posture.
- Lie on your stomach with your legs and toes stretched out. Slowly widen your legs a little apart.
- Keeping your elbows on the ground, cross your hands.
- Place your right hand on the left shoulder, and your left hand on the right shoulder. This will form a triangle.
- Rest your forehead on your crossed hands. Head should remain inside the elbows.
- Breathe easy and be conscious of your breath.
- Remain in this position for few minutes (around 1-3 minutes).
This asana is highly beneficial for people suffering from asthma. Makarasana stimulates the stomach and small intestine thus assisting in proper digestion.
