Sores that appear in the lining of the stomach or duodenum are called ulcers. It is caused mainly due to bacterial infection. Helicobacter pylori is the bacterium that causes ulcer. Pain killers and other drugs used to treat arthritis can also cause ulcer.
The most common symptom of ulcer is a burning pain in the stomach. Ulcer can also cause nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. If there is excessive bleeding, blood will appear in the vomit or in the stool.
- Taking banana with a glass of milk twice a day is an excellent remedy for ulcer. It neutralizes the acidity of the gastric juice.
- Honey reduces inflammation in the stomach lining. Swallow one spoon of honey before every meal.
- Boil cabbage in water; allow it to cool, and consume twice daily.
- Grind the leaves of drumstick in to a paste. Mix it with yoghurt and consume daily.
- Ulcer can be treated by consuming vegetable juices like carrot and cabbage. Consume before each meal and before going to bed.
- Goat’s milk is highly beneficial in the treatment of ulcer. Milk products are also very useful.
- Drinking potato juice in empty stomach also helps.
Alcoholism, smoking, and stress are also some of the factors responsible for ulcer.
