Natural Ways to Treat Migraine Headache

Migraine headache is an acute pain on either side of your head. It occurs because of overworking your head and neck muscles. Other reasons could be eye strain, bright light, loud noise, hunger, sleeplessness and stress. Headache could also be a side effect of some other health problems.

Some home remedies for relief from migraine headaches:

  • Take few cabbage leaves, crush them properly and wrap them on a cotton cloth. Tie it and place it on your forehead.
  • Placing ice, wrapped in a kitchen towel, on your forehead will give you great relief from migraine.
  • For quick relief from headache, apply clove paste on the forehead.
  • Smells of Lavender, Peppermint, Sandalwood, or Eucalyptus is very effective in relieving stress. The scent of green apple is also an excellent remedy for migraine.
  • Grape juice gives excellent relief from migraine.
  • Mixing spinach juice with carrot juice in equal proportions has been found to be very useful in treating migraine.
  • Having a cup of coffee will also relieve you from migraine.
  • Have two teaspoons of honey before each meal.
  • Avoid food containing monosodium glutamate. 
  • Consume food items rich in magnesium.
