Remedies for Indigestion!

Indigestion is a condition where, digestive juices are not secreted properly in the stomach and causes discomfort. This condition is caused due to the consumption of food that leads to acidity, heartburn, gas problems and so on.

The main factors that cause indigestion are:

  • Overeating
  • Eating in a hurry without chewing properly
  • Food allergies like beans, onions, seafood etc.
  • Lack of Exercise
  • Improperly cooked food

Following are some indigestion cures:

  • Drop around 2-3 drops of mint essence in water and drink every 4 hours.
  • Take 2-3 drops of garlic oil or ½ cup of Soya oil and gently massage with it on your tummy.
  • Drink ginger tea after meal, as it aids in promoting digestion. Also you can go in for herbal tea prepared from blackberry, raspberry or mint.
  • In a glass of water, put some lemon juice or cider vinegar. Drink this mixture before having a meal.
  • Place an ice bag over the stomach for half an hour after meals.
  • Chew on a clove as it promotes enzymatic flow and boosts the digestive functioning.
  • Ground cardamom seed when mixed with ginger, cloves and coriander is an effective remedy for indigestion.
  • Having halfa glass of pineapple juice after every meal is also beneficial in treating indigestion
  • Mix one teaspoon of cumin seeds in a glass of water and drink it. This will ease the stomach.
