Woman With 2 Wombs Gives Birth To Triplets

without comments

In a first-of-its kind case, a woman with two wombs has given birth to triplets, who are all doing fine. Hannah Kersey, 23, gave birth to three girls in a Southmead Hospital in Bristol. The kids spent nine weeks in the hospital.

There was a pair of identical twins delivered from one womb and a single baby from the other, who were delivered by Caesarean section seven weeks early. The girls are all healthy now.

Yakoub Khalaf, a consulting gynecologist at Guy’s and St. Thomas’s Hospital said, “There haven’t been any similar account where three healthy babies are born of two wombs. Multiple pregnancies tend to be risky, and delivering triplets under such abnormal circumstances was even riskier”.

He said that triplets delivered from two wombs has never been recorded earlier and this lady was extremely lucky.
