The first ever comparison between flu shot and the new FluMist inhalable vaccine found that flushots were far more effective in adults. The study, conducted on 1,250 Michigan adults, found that a needle in the arm was 67 percent to 77 percent successful in preventing the flu, depending on the measurement. But the nasal spray was only 30 percent to 57 percent effective.
FluMist was developed sometime back keeping kids in mind, but it was not sure which of the two was more effective at preventing flu. But now, since it is confirmed that flushots are better, you can take your pick now.
