Ovarian Cancer affects several women worldwide every year, but its symptoms are not easily identifiable. That’s the reason it is considered a silent killer. There’s no effective screening test to identify ovarian cancer in its early stages. Nearly 3 out of 4 women, are diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer, when there are less chances of a cure.
Researchers at the University of Washington School of Medicine, have identified the 6 most common symptoms associated with ovarian cancer by comparing the clinical histories of women with the disease.
It was found that the most common complaints included:
1. pelvic pain
2. abdominal pain
3. abdominal bloating
4. increased abdominal size
5. difficulty eating
6. feeling full quickly
You may think that these are very common symptoms that everybody experiences. If you find any of these sympoms, get yourself examined by a doctor. The purpose is to alert women and their physicians that there may be a warning sign if these symptoms come on quickly and occur with frequency.
