Eating a well balanced diet not only keeps you healthy and disease-free, it also affects your performance in bed. What you eat affects your libido and can have a direct impact on your sex life. Although eating a well balanced diet is essential for better sex, there are some foods that are known to drive your sex hormones and boost your performance in bed. Have a look at these foods:
1. Honey:
Honey is a bountiful source of boron, a mineral which enhances blood levels of testosterone, the hormone responsible for sex drive. It also helps the body metabolize and utilize estrogen, the basic female sex hormone.
2. Oysters:
Shellfish and all seafood is packed with minerals that drive the sex hormones. Oysters are loaded with zinc, which is critical for production of testosterone, the sex hormone in both men and women.
3. Chocolate:
Apart from being tasty, Chocolate is one food you can never miss out when you are thinking about better sex. Chocolate contains methylxanthines, which stimulates the transmission and conduction of nerve impulses. They also create a feeling of satisfaction. You can have dark chocolate or cocoa to get boost your libido.
4. Dry Fruits and Nuts:
Dry fruits and Nuts like almonds and walnuts are good for getting a jump in your libido. You can also have vegetable and nut oils like walnut oil that are labeled ‘cold-pressed’.
5. Oats:
Oats increase the testosterone levels in the blood. To boost your libido, eat a cup of cooked oatmeal several times a week.
6. Eggs:
Eggs are full of B vitamins, especially B6 and B5. Eggs can maintain your energy levels and blow away your bedroom blues. Other sources of B6 vitamin include carrots, spinach, peas, brewer’s yeast, sunflower seeds, wheat germ and fish. Also consume potatoes, whole grains and milk.
7. Steak (Beef meat):
Lean cuts of red meat with brown rice or whole-grain bread, green leafy vegetables and crumbly cheeses are all good sources of zinc.
8. Strawberries:
There’s something about romance and strawberries. It is said that strawberries get you in the mood for sex and enhance your pleasure.
You can eat fresh strawberries with whipped cream too.
9. Icecream:
Some people swear by vanilla icecream for better sex. You can also have some delicious strawberry icecream to set the mood for romance.
10. Fruits:
Apart from strawberries, other fruits such as grapes, pineapple, cherries and blueberries are good for better sex. But do not overconsume blueberries as it can lead to diarrhea.
11. Pesto:
Make some pesto and have it with pasta when you wanna make love.
12. Wheatgerm:
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of wheat germ on every cup of yogurt and every bowl of cereal you eat. Wheat germ is rich in zinc, that helps to increase the levels of testosterone.
13. Soy:
If you are a woman, adding soy to your diet will be helpful for you. Soy is good even for men, as it helps to keep the prostate healthy. Also add a little amount of chili peppers and ginger to your diet to improve your sexual pleasure.
14. Limit your intake of alcohol and wine.
Do not consume more than one drink a day. It may provoke sexual desire, but it is bad for your performance.
