Women fearing the risk of breast cancer can now rejoice as there is a new type of ultrasound, that is highly effective in determining whether the lumps in the breasts are cancerous or not.
Dr Richard Barr, a radiologist at Ohio, who conducted the study says that the findings can reduce the number of unnecessary breast biopsies and reassure women that their tumors are harmless and they don’t have to worry.
The technique known as
Elasticity Imaging
, is a powerful version of a conventional ultrasound. We just hope this comes as a relief to millions of women who are suffering from the deadly disease.
