The Northern Kentucky District Health Department is sending e-mails and fax messages to Kentucky residents reminding them to take a flu shot.
It may be noted that National Influenza Vaccination Week starts from Monday, 27 Nov to December 3. The Health Department will offer flu shots by appointment in its health centers in Boone, Grant, Campbell and Kenton counties.
Flu season usually hits around January or February. So the flu shots will protect you through the holiday season when people get in closer contact with each other.
The Boone County Health Center will be kept open till 6 p.m. on monday for working people. It charges $20 per shot. Medicare and Medicaid are also accepted. Many physicians and pharmacies are also offering flu vaccines.
