According to a recent survey, the first borns of young mums are twice as likely to live up to 100 years than other kids. The study shows that long life is linked to the order of birth and age of your mother.

The first-born children of mums aged under 25, are 1.7 times more likely than their siblings to reach the age of 100. The studies were conducted on 1,000 people who lived up to the age of 100.

Dr Natalia Gavrilova, of the University of Chicago, said, “If the best, most vigorous maternal ova cells are used first, very early in life, this could explain why particularly young mothers produce particularly long-lived children”. The results were presented this week at a meeting of the Gerontological Society of America in Dallas, Texas.

It may be noted that the life expectancy for adults has risen sharply in the past 50 years.
