Water is very essential for our bodies. It aids in digestion and nutrient absorption. It eliminates wastes from our bodies by flushing out the toxins. It regulates blood circulation, maintains body temperature and aids in several other biochemical reactions. Water is also essential for maintaining a healthy skin.
So you might be wondering how much water your body needs daily, to stay healthy.
For women, approximately 2.7 liters or 8 glasses of water or fluid intake is required daily. And for men, about 3.7 liters or 12 glasses of water and fluid intake is required daily.
Prolonged physical activity and heat exposure results in water loss, thus increasing our requirement of water intake. The more the water loss, the more you have to drink. Even when we exercise, our bodies need extra fluids to prevent dehydration.
But don’t drink too much of beverages in order to increase your fluid intake. Just drink plain water and fresh fruit juices, because they are more healthy. But be sure that the water you drink is clean, filtered and free from any contaminants and bacteria.
