- Practise Yoga for 30 to 45 miutes per day to get maximum results.
- The best time to practise yoga is early in the morning. It can be practised in the afternoon too, but you have to follow certain food restrictions.
- Your stomach should be empty while practising yoga. If you are doing yoga in the afternoon, make sure that you do not consume any liquids for one hour before doing yoga and any solids for 3 .5 hours before yoga.
- Children below 12 years should not practise yoga for longer durations. Every asana should be maintained for very short period. And always consult a doctor to know whether any posture is risky for children.
- Yoga should be practised on a carpetted or matted floor.
- The place where you are doing yoga must be spacious, bright, clean and airy.
- Wear comfortable clothes when you are practising yoga. Your clothes must be loose and clean.
- Avoid spicy and hot diet.
- Yoga should not be practised by women during menstruation and pregnancy.
- If you are not comfortable doing a yoga pose or asana, do not push yourself too much. Skip that pose.
